Sweeney's Big Top Circus is a jumbled mess and it's up to Putt-Putt to put things back in order. In typical Putt-Putt fashion, children join in the adventure by steering the little car through screen after screen of colorful graphics, meeting characters and collecting helpful objects along the way. For instance, a safety net acquired in one scene will help those daredevil pigs The Flying Porkowskis complete their trapeze act in another scene. (Yes, the humor in this title is definitely up to snuff!) Many lost items must be found, and lots of characters need Putt-Putt's assistance. Katie Cannonball wants help setting the angle of her cannon, Bette Bandwagon needs her pipes rearranged from lowest to highest note, and Phillipe the Flea wants a new tent for his troupe. These tasks and others require patience, logic and a good memory. Kids have to think as well as play. Our testers enjoyed the program, but even the older kids felt it was a little tricky. As usual, the characters are endearing and the game is very compelling- children don't want to stop playing. Games can be saved mid-play, but you have to remember to do this before you quit. Programs for this age group should have automatic save! Mini games are embedded along the way and the adventure culminates in a performance under the Big Top.
